I really miss dino
I miss his nutball wit
I would categorize
as sophisticated silly goose
I miss his elegance, his grace, his kindness
I miss the eponymous kiwi
running amok, a reappearing raptor star
like the coyote with all his acme gadgetry
I thought I'd never have the guts
to dare write a poem about dino,
a monumental equation not fit for myself
but there are a few things I do know
he was a man of the people, able to identify
just as fluently with the homeless beggar
as the average joe or especially, the stray cat
so I said to myself
there will never ever be just one poem
that encapsulates mr. poet
this is just step one....
this is just my very first try
I miss dino...vol. 1 no. 1
I miss dino...vol. 1 no. 1

And his haggis poems too! . . . I'm bummed that I never made it to the east coast to meet him, but I saw the photos from that 2008 reading . . . cool stuff. Wish I could have been there . . .
