bad mad poet

I was crazy, then I was insane
now I'm just a mad poet
for some reason, you have to be
mad, to call yourself a poet
as if it is some kind of badge
of bad taste, to actually admit it
I don't call myself a poet, I just write it
oh, wouldn't want to be in bad company
with those mad people that call themselves
what they are, to come out with it like that
right out in in the open and in front of those
humble writers, who merely write it, recite it
but us bad mad ones who make an ass of ourselves

bad and mad are subjective opinions for the most part when it comes to writing....publication alone for instance does not make you good or sane....you have faithfully plied your craft, ergo
you are a poet...and a good one, i might add...IMHO...which isn't worth a nickel....but there is a great deal of your work that have enjoyed....so forget the labels, keep writing...you have at least one fan...Ha Ha
