I watched the arc
of her bare foot
as she sighed
that special note
and shifted her position
on the seat
of the straight back chair.

Something like a wet rose
(( flashed ))
a silent summons.

Adam naked I obeyed.

On my knees I walked
toward that gateless garden
impressed by an unspoken word
into the service of a queenly need.
