conversations with old dead guys

Post by saw »

Shakespeare said take me
As You Like It, my intentions
forever ruminated in English classes,
in noisy pubs with clinking pint glasses
un-imagined new wrinkles splashed
with Guinness and projectile spit
words laid down like bread crumbs
my every notion there for public scrutiny

like an overactive teenage mind
the angst turned into witches
and I can't take any of it back
it's all out there in the howling tempest
blowing through the minutes
of the twelfth night, but here's a little tip,
the shrew cannot be tamed
she's a wild animal....hungry and feral
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
