I love the way mist & fog soften distant objects, the way they seem to fade out of view as they recede into the background...

I know. The fog is what makes the scene so compelling. This shot was actually "accidental": I was actually setting up to shoot a large meadow scene about 90 degrees to the right and not paying much attention to the road. I happened to glance toward the road, and after an "Oh, s--t!", got the real shot. It's not unusual. "The shot on the way to the shot" is fairly common...
