The place is a flutter
the farmers drunk agin
the cat is after the chicks and the roosters gone mad
hens are fighting over scraps and horse manure
the cow peed in the water trough
the old rooster struts and crows kicking up dust
fighting his own shadow
not bothering to look up
at the hawk circling
