why I don't do politics anymore

Post by mnaz »

A guy got elected.
He didn't know politics from a hole.
He done business with N-Y mafia,
or so it seemed.
He done business with Kremlin spawn,
or so it seemed.
He done business with hushed strippers,
or so it seemed.
A Capitalist King, where money is God,
he couldn't miss.
He was perfect.

I'm done as well
I already know all I need to know
the rest will come by osmosis
through the leeks in social media
trumps an asshole
I will not let him pull me into his
games of crazy, his evil deeds
I'll see you at the demonstration
but I ain't gonna watch the news
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

News may have a little soul-searching to do,
true, but oh those business-as-usual politics... ALL about business at this point...

“The American Empire is coming to an end,” he writes. “The death spiral appears unstoppable, meaning the United States as we know it will no longer exist within a decade or, at most, two, Traditional institutions of liberalism, including the Democratic Party, are, in Hedges’ view, hopelessly corrupted. “The ruling elites,” he says, “bought the allegiances of the two main political parties by purging … New Deal Democrats and corporate and imperial critics. They imposed obedience to corporate capitalism and globalization within academia and the press.”

You are all absolutely spot on with your posts... each and every one of them.

The showdown will be the results of this mid-term election - how many will actually realize the importance of their vote regardless of gender, race, religion, political party and whatever else people shy away from instead of hitting the ballots head-on.

If voting is strong, there is hope the nation will survive... if the slugs stay home they will bitch about the results they themselves help created.
