ripples on the pond

little brown bird

wolf-child of mama nature
change signaled

my exit from dreams
after plot resolutions
morning adjustment

taste of espresso
memory of that first sip
inner attention

morning gift to self
an extra hour to sleep
sunrise postponement

this day after
i give thanks to zoom meetings
world-wide enrichment

fingers on keyboard
alcohol rubdown to come
birth of clean haiku

branches of tree
crossing the moon
grass-covered roots

everyone guesses
what day is it, are we sure
and then, espresso

spring peepers
sound recorder on -
then silence!

nature's little prank -
fresh snowfall

unwelcome find
hitchhiker's calling card -
inflamed tick bite

gentle raps of rain on roof
