The Human Shame

Is it not "fear" nor "fear itself" that looms
in the darkness of our once bright future
judging us as a gift once given but now,
...now it closes the gift box for the burial

"Here lies humanity, failed to live up...
live up to their hopes and expectations."

The shame we've brought to the beauty
we once smugly called "LIFE”…
