On the Cusp of Enlightenment

On the cusp I drive dinosaur
engines sucking dinosaur fuel,
sucked out of earth, the past.

Energy equations add up to zero.
No one explains the ramifications
of Buddha riding in a pickup truck.

Buddha knows enlightenment.
Buddha should air down his tires
on a steep trail, or sand or clay.

a pause before nirvana
to change our flat tire

burning the midnight oil of time we see
the spirituality of the Exxon Valdez
nonexistent

Nine lines just right writes
your assembly perfectly stated
as if you were reborn in a truck

Perhaps you did... perhaps you did
enlightenment strikes whenever...
whenever need calls for the Truth

That definite silent explosion
always unexpected as it should
without a knock or call - your own!
