Don't Do It !

[saw]

the shadows
are taking over the room,
they couldn't care less
about the weakness of weathered eyes

that crave the light,
darkness falls despite me
the night will not be denied
by silly desires

don't fight it,
write like a manic doll
push that ballpoint to it's limits,
to the point

and what is....the point ?

well, I have witnessed writing implements
implode, I have seen the faces
of literary squids, tangling their creative arms
'round a man's soul

they're not make-believe
you will see them too, if you open wide
never give in to the idle demon, sure, sure, sure
I know he plays a mean fiddle in reverse

but he's a one trick pony
sometimes a one trick monkey, and sometimes
he wants you to slow dance with him to elevator music
