I'm still here

Post by saw »

he climbed
the enclosed stairs
paintings hung on either side
of the plastered walls

he imagined what it was like
to go fifteen rounds
with a young Mike Tyson
out to destroy, break his spirit

a few bones, anyone in his way
to the top of the landing
as his mumble rang out like a ringside bell
" I'm still here "

And still the heavyweight champion of pain...!!
the oxycodone like Pez,. click Popeye's head
and ascend the 15 stairs
to the top, fall into the Barcalounger

" I'm still here" was all he could think to utter
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

so glad to see you weathered the storm - a little battered, but still afloat. Take it slow - "ta-da" comebacks are fine for the young dudes, not so much for us. The Gunpowder & Millers Rivers can wait - they'll be there when we're ready.

Welcome back!

rolling with the punches, might take a little longer, but the drill is known.
good recovery, Steve. And may there be tidings on Dec 7 to ease your mind.
