between tones, insistent
tints of hope
watercolour bas-relief
muted moan
shy stains on a sleeping canvas

a kiss that darts between elbows
i plant my mark on you

while planets dream
in half-time
tandem
sweet nothings
have their way with me

is this the colour
of my love
an oozing tube modestly spent
to paint you
in print and folly
& to sign in pre-dawn whisper

stars gone from the skies
the clouds cover the sun
i reach into my holster
and quick fire six shots
into the abyss
without a drop of blood
being shed
i dread
the loneliness of time
erasing memories
into chalk dust
swept into the void
