Mercury has gone retrograde as of a few days ago and this is a sort of explanation of what it can mean, as far as planetary influences.

OK. Just thought the planetary influences were supposed to influence people. Sorry hest... was just hoping you'd give me some advice as to what it meant to idiots like me.

Mercury going retrograde means that a current flow of energy is going to slow down and eventually stop briefly, before going into complete reverse.
Like when a ferry docks, the engines go into heavy reverse to slow the forward motion. We're going into reverse motion right now and this can make things happen we don't want to happen. Like in an earthquake, things fall off the shelves, mercury in retrograde is rattling our direction up, making things difficult, annoying, breaking points snap, replacing worn out parts is a theme......
It's a "snap out of it" from when things are going well into things are going screwy.
Going with the "flow" takes way more discipline and consciousness, and will continue to, until into the first week of November, when things will right themselves in the planetary realm again.

Be vigilant in what you do and especially, in how you react during this retrograde.

as if I can not stand the october sun.

Sounds like sound advice to me
