fetching apple cider I look
to the left and spy a whimsical
beatnik and a beautiful siren
entangled on a white couch
fangs abound as I quickly open the fridge for some salsa and cheese......a pack of camels and of course the Zieglers.....wow how
will they remove those stains????????????

still I wiredly endure
up and down these
150 year old steps, the
night echoing the past
my dog silent, eyes filled
with wonder, time to surf
cowabunga.....make mine
oaxacan with a splach of O.J.
on the side, and where did those vampires go..............

fog

the fog at eastern and caroline
gas street lamps shine
rail road tracks glisten
fog horns from the harbor
rail road cars parked in front of
a hundred year old house with store front windows
a picture from the gone world of childhood
jitterbug has a date I watch him disapear into the fog
he took the money we were saving to buy an electric train
blew it on a girl

when I still believed in vampires and santa, and God and general motors
I wondered what happens if the count was named draculastein, would a crucifix still work or would you need a star of david?

I am getting stupid

Too old to learn the loving tongue but when I was a young Faust and I wanted to know everything
Russian and Polish Yiddish I heard every day but it was the classics I most wanted to know
Latin and Greek anything ancient fascinated me.

you
must have for
gotten
the reason
why
i tried

it was the same
as the motivation
for turning
and tuning
spit into air
air into space
space into unreason

now i'm
laying
on the carpet
with my pet car
named friendship
his dog is called
hover
and the vaccuum in mind
is calling out
for more
validity and
solidity

opened up
a greeting
card, it read:
abortion
is a way of saying
thank you.

on the green street
the red eyed monster
is walking backwards
looking for prey
to pray
with
at the altar of despair.
absolution is a switch
flicked on and
off not by
patience but by
patients of the unrelenting
night,
mere.

jam in the flavor of What?!
quirk and bizarre
zeppelin's bursting with song
aorta rope ladder
pumps us together

this day has become hmmm again

i've gotta bizarre hummmm –
too dumb to know better.

i've got some odd phrases,
places in stories
with missed letters.

my grammar
ain't so grand. perhaps,
so i might choose a lapse
in consciousness
rather

than selecting
some of the other stuff
i happen to spout
which doesn't matter.

i'll hum, if you hum
harmony.

i've been saving up an
ohm
to throw onto this fire, a
pome
to set the stakes up one higher
i've been a roamer and a
dream realizer
a homing pigeon and a
quiet fantasizer

ye who fire so well
ohm on in
the hmmmms and herssss
of quiet harmony

at quarter to six
i'm forced to revel in the possibilities
small bush fires
and a day to make them bright

puling up a seat
at the fire
roasting marshmallows
of mellow thought

this one catches fire and must be
blown out
that ones shell crisped
falls into the fire
this one
is just
right
soft in the center
firm on the outside
melts warm in the mouth

the skewer
is hot and sticky

sent back
into my eye
to snatch a another
brain for basting
grey matter to put
into the shish key bob

bring four apples
into the western delight
full of expenses and draperies
