Tonight/tomorrow begins Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, when (most western) pew-ters in their late(!) Summer finery amble to the Synagogue to begin the ritual purging (taslich) of their past years' "sins" (wonder about Bernie whom madoff with the gelt?), only to return, again & again...(one definition of insanity is "repeating the same behavior expecting a different result!" H'H./H.e.m.
