Ahhhh, I am so glad that you are on the mend and have a great support system (give her my wink and nod please.)

NS: My own Zen tale goes back to when I was 13, tired of hating the Xian god, and became an atheist in search of wisdom. Beginning with the world’s religions, the discovery of “enlightenment religions” was a revolution in thought for me. The ‘non-religion’ of Zen emphasizes this aspect like no other tradition. At about that time, what was then called “educational TV” initiated a fascinating lecture series, every Wednesday after school, on Zen. It was given by a young scholar from your Bay area, named, Alan Watts. I’ve been decidedly Zennish ever since.

ME: Otay! You and Cec have the same guru so to speak. Alan spoke to him also. We have his lecture series on vid around here somewhere.

My teachers tend to be more esoteric and outlandish than Alan altho I enjoy listening to him. I throw in Astrology, Tarot (both long ongoing studies of mine), and Osho, a teacher whom I argue with all the time. He has a Zorba the Buddha bent.

NS: Ah, you mean Sri Rajneesh, no? I had thought at your first mention, that you intended the Buddhist school, also called, ‘Osho.’

Would you care to elaborate on his teachings, as I know little of them save his bad press way back when, i.e. sex guru, Rolls Royce guru, etc. You may have heard of our once also infamous guru, going back further in time, Guru Maharaji, the (then) 15 year old guru? Those were grand times, full of fun and lila. The ‘kid,’ like Rajneesh, had a good sense of humor, as should all good gurus. They need it.

NS: MT knows that I am familiar with old Crazy Cloud. Not so very “radical,” just very able. I’ve read about everything in Chan/Zen literature there is worth reading, and have thousands of their best quotes always at hand.
