let it flow on out

i danced with hester
under the persian sky

treading lightly
dual resonance
and venus smiled

the likes and lights
of hester
of judih
of doreen
and other friends of mine...

it's why stars shine

we can heal the world with a dance
we can heal the world with a smile
we might not ever be known for it, though,
but it's worth the extra mile

stumbling through her mother's things
she finds this photo

instantly she's back
the song the sounds
the feel the fragrances
the fever of dancing

for the couple
for her friends
for her mother
for herself

the freedom
the passion
past and present
juxtaposed
as she touches this eternal instant of joy

slowly, it all fades back

she's still
completely aware of how special
fragile
this beautiful moment of a special memory was

"Did you find it?"
her mom calls from the other room

and in her heart she's tossing back her head and saying
"Oh Yes! I've found it!"
but to her mom's question
she loving replies

"Not yet...."
an mistakable note of joy in her voice
and a private smile upon her lips

children are fed
while children feed
a friend brings a picnic

clinking glasses of pride, dare we say it?
friends share joy
relishing the moment
