I was thinking of Kristin Kobes Du Mez, the woman who wrote this book.
Her book — Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation
Her style of thinking reminds me of you.
I have the audiobook and I keep listening to it over and over. Maybe it is too heavy now but if you want to read something kick ass, that book is it. Would you like me to send it to you as Kindle™ or audiobook? Or anything else you want to read/listen?

this book I have given up on after a 17 year struggle to understand.

was distracted by family illness, but returned and expanded my scope to see these messages.....though I have followed you on FB....so glad you are coming along OK....happy you have housemates that can pitch in....time flies really....my cardiac rehab was a blink ( 6 weeks )...and you too will be running around before you know it....so keep your chin up...or actually keep it down so you can see the floor....hope it all is smooth, like a baby's ass....

Hi my sweet dear friends! Thank you so much for your posts and your caring hearts! I am doing well! A week and 5 days since surgery and I’m still using a walker but occasionally using a cane and eventually I will be using no support at all! I stripped the bed yesterday and washed and changed the sheets all by myself plus had a shower, unassisted other than the grab bars. I still have some pain and swelling around the incision but good grief, my progress is nothing short of miraculous! I have PT tomorrow and scheduled 3x a week through Christmas. After that, maybe I won’t need it anymore? We’ll see!

Thank you , judih, for the link to the book... I love Pema Chodren and will listen to it a little at a time! I’ve been listening to Tara Brach’s talks and guided meditations which are very helpful to me! Also some Jack Kornfield (I think that’s his name) and reading a lot of Thich Nhat Hanh... This time in my life calls for peace and spiritual awakening, calmness and mindfulness! I am truly blessed to be recovering so well so quickly and to have all of you as my friends reaching out to me with love and compassion!

Thank you for the poetry, Jack! I don’t have a kindle but I do have my phone so I guess I could listen to any audio book on my phone just as well, so whatever you choose to send would be wonderful!

Steve, it’s so fantastic that you are doing so well after your open heart surgery! I watch your Facebook posts with photos of your walks in nature with awe! I’m so happy for you and so happy Susan is with you helping you and being a loving companion!

I’m excited to have been given the gift of a new life chapter! I haven’t been able to walk for many months, but I’m psyched for the gift of a new hip and soon I’ll be walking and dancing all over the place! Yay! It is definitely miraculous!
