Cecil, what do you think of posting your column in 2 places? One in another area of the site like the great ideas forum or the discussion forum and then linking to it there to your column post?

just thinking after reading Mars' post here that you're missing some readers who love your work and might want to interact with you about what you've written but don't see it 'cause it's way down the page...

I am also fortunate to find this thread because it is well written, thoughtful and very provoking and since I am a lobster who knows my time is short, I will take the time to respond.

Like Cec noted, we don't have the opportunity to gather in person to smoke, joke and drink a beer each evening in a communal way. That 'in person' commeraderie is what made those writers of yore legend. They had a group, a club (so to speak) and they could bounce ideas off of each other in a relaxed and inspired way.

What Doreen has created here is a pretty close second, at least I think so, and we came close (and became close) on Litkicks but here, we may reach a pinacle. They may speak of the writers and artists of Studio 8 in historical context some day. It could happen...(and not that it matters to me because that is not why I write.)

I am one of the fortunate ones in that I have a partner that is also creative and we can bounce ideas off of each other. I am not the only star in the universe and that is a great thing, for me and him.

For me, just getting to know some of these folks that write in this medium has been a most welcome and educational ride and we are not through yet.

Yes, my time is limited...I am one of the few lobsters that knows my end will come but in the meantime, I make my living by what I create. It doesn't get any better than that. And I promise you, I am not pulling anyone to the bottom of the bucket. Hopefully, I am giving them a push upwards...

Thx, Dor' for the comments and suggestions, but I don't think doubling up Streams is necessarily a great idea... no more than doubling any board.

Now if there were a banner... yeah! with Sunday Streams... now that, MzPeri... that!... just might be cool! Think of the possiblities with all the boards having an occasional promo by way of the banner..!

I don't know if this sounds unfriendly but I feel no special need to meet with anyone here at all. I think I like this as it is. Somebody shoot me while I am happy, this is as good as it gets for me

My only travel plans for the next hundred years inclused a trip to port O'Connor. Thinking about moving there.

I definitely agree with you here. Although that's not why I write either, but it is an exciting challenge. Ambition is, of course, a game.

I would personally enjoy meeting any and all of you in person, 'cause that's the sort of person I am; I like meeting people, especially talented people. If I make it to Cabaradio that would be wonderful.

I tend to forget about the other boards as well. It's like back in the litkicks days, when lightninrod was reprimanded for (among other things) posting poetry and other non-utterances on utterances, and he made the analogy to getting comfortable on a barstool and not wanting to move. Or how at a party everyone just gravitates to the kitchen.

There's a lot of the boards I don't go to as well. Haiku, GO!, and Culture are too much for me. I can't wrap my head around it.

I can't get my head around Duets either, but I'm fascinated by the idea and want to try it at some point in the future.

Well, there's certainly nothing wrong with being a lobster...they are tastey delicous when cooked and they're awfully interesting in the raw state too. Yup, they're definitely grabbers and clawers. Captivating, even while roiling in a "bucket", ours is a nice bucket, a "bucket o fun".

So, let's hear it for the lobsters...with or without butter!

I don't consider myself a lobster tho, I'm just that flounder that got caught up in the lobster trap and is trying to blend.

I like the haiku board, and "Go". Great places for spontaneous word play...though alot of times one plays alone, but hell, that's kinda like life, no?

Anyway, perhaps some of the lobsters here need to branch out and explore other areas of the studioeight bucket. You know that old adage..."Try it, you'll like it, or not."

Is it wrong to like it in the bucket? Does everyone want to get out of the bucket? To succeed or not to succeed that is the question. Just remember when you do succeed, to thank all the little lobsters that helped you get there.
