get outta the Jeep
foot hits the ground first thing I hear is coyotes
little punk wolves out there in the dark
but I ain't in the mood
the wind is outta the east
blowing down from the plateau
bringing the scent of millions of falling leaves
straight into my nostrils
I howl back into the darkness
ready to eat their hearts raw
just for the hell of it

spent the morning watching a puddle form in the rain.
then watching the ripples
after the rain stopped but droplets were still falling from the over hanging tree limb.
and then the poodle was still waters
and the sun came out and evaporated the puddle to muddy smear on the side walk.
All this happened right before my eyes in time lapse
of four billion years.
forever we be wobbling
but not fallen yet
we wobblers never fall
