I have seen my death
at a crossroads
so many times
I pull out in front of a truck
because I looked but did not see
that's my problem
I see him as happy
and lonely
as Whitman
Some of us are free to choose
some of us are lost in childhood
a strange uncanny feeling for a son to look upon his mother's naked body
ten thousand years after the garden
we are still wearing fig leaves
a sludge of syllables
searching for a metaphor
for those that are fruitful but do not multiply
I want to put my shoulder to the wheel
if not for my own than for all of them

a sky spitting snow
the 26th of march
but it's all behind us now
time to leave these shores
& these shoes
want to hear the first thunder
of the spring storms
the words making cricket sounds
in the grass
all night

misty morning
quiet after the storm
brokenhearted neighbors
could use some peace and quiet
I better watch my step
maybe people can change
for the sake of their children's well being
just call me pollyannasunshine
going to be a beautiful day
in paradise texas again

Peloponnesian poetry
oh what a feeling
when the saints come home
Achiles struck out
Hector had it coming
a thousand ships for face face
a tragedy a comedy
a farce a mystery
or a just a jam

Outer thoughts
Inner thoughts
I had thoughts
Bout thoughts I had
Should, could, would
Kinda rolls off the tongue
Samurai thoughts
Tribe thoughts
Sound of rhythm beats
the air
Resounding off these hills
They give us time to pause
All ?'s alleviated
