it's what we get
for living long enough
to get old -
thought i was retiring
not quite working out that way

only thing i can say
about today is
i herded three HUGE hogs
escaped from the landlord's barn
out of the road -
they had wandered down here
to the river
stopping traffic in both directions
didn't know what all the horn honking was about
looked out the window
hogs in the road
hogs in the yard
holy jumped up surrealistic shit
running out the door
with a shovel
in the rain

the balls on that boar
were bigger
than my brain

my romance fantasy
with Tug Hill
never had any pigs in it

Going on
Feel it
In the streets
On guard
And yet she smiles
So angelic
Wrapped
Coming for us
Threatening
Never cold
The storm blew
Through quickly
Umbrella raised
Slogging to the train
Squish....squash...
A labyrinth
These scaffoldings
Looking into the abyss

i ended up
zoning on that pic -
just got back
from a rescue mission
one of the guys i've
become friends with up here
blew out one of the back tires
on his truck -
after yesterday's pig-herding circus
today's adventure was
quite calm -
we getting by
up here to the plateau
we getting by

Zoney indeed
Ah a Friday
Lay down & relax
Old bones need rest
Off to Fredericksburg
Tomorrow to see
My sister in hospice
Rental car adventure
Have not driven in a year
Should be interesting

today is the day
turkey sacrifices on a lot of minds
well maybe not the sacrifice
maybe just the taste will do
I like thanksgiving if the purpose
is to really meditate on what we should
be thankful for...that needs to be done
and not just one day a year
I'm thankful for many things
one of them is my fellow poets
peace

peace to the poets
may they read and accept
the dignity in each others
words, i can hear it from
the mountaintops, bottom of
deepest seas, respect their words
embrace their feelings, be glad
they have the courage to
lay it on the line.......

it is better
silence whirls
dervishly
about me
not words
only movement
escape
to dreams
recurring
another life
inside mind
over and over
alternate places
those i don't know
those i do
the inner workings
amazing
who are these ones?
i never met them
except in dreams
