oh 2017 I didn't expect
you'd nail me just as the year
is getting it's legs, but wham
big ass kidney stone
sent me to Union Memorial
for 4 days and that backup
caused a raging UTI that
managed to get into my bloodstream
and I still have that stone
it's stuck, won't be able to pass
but have to get infection cleared up
before the docs can go in and get it
so I take my meds and watch tv
take my oxy and listen to music
seems surgery is the only way
and they will go in thru said kidney
to fetch it, and for now I have a tube
pierced into the that kidney to relieve
the pressure, and my walking streak
of 154 days in a row is over, but soon
as this ordeal is over, gonna start
a new streak...oh 2017...how cruel you are

Thinking of you, Steve. Bit of a setback, but hey, you got a way about ya! They'll get that darn stone out soon and you'll be trekking in the woods again. You, me and Wireman gotta do lunch. Hang in there!

i hope and pray that the stone has seen fit to pass, but if it's stubbornly refusing, then may glory medicine jettison its form into microscopic units that fly out with a whiz and a sigh.

Ughh, kidney stones are really painful - like getting shot. I've been spared, but people I know who haven't been so lucky say it's the worst pain they've ever experienced. This too shall pass (sorry - could never resist a bad pun). All the best.
