Sorry you are offended bennie
Clay is my hero. I look up to him in all things.
He called me an idiot and told me to shut up, so I figured it must be cool.
Very sorry
I hurt your feelings
Yes he told me I was passive aggressive too. I am going to see a therapist about that.
Oh bennie
wait a minute
that's was a joke right?
Not funny?
oh well I can't please everyonge.

I don't know if you guys can't read or if you are just dead set on painting Lrod as a villain.
I never said a word about two kinds of art. That was bennie's example. Despite the words that others want to put in my mouth, I think that there are many kinds of art and humor as well.

Villain? You?
Heavens no
Would you mind if I called you
LorD?
Geez now I find out it is not cool to call someone an idiot and tell them to shut up.
Why the fuck did you steer me wrong
Lord?

Some points:
1). Did I "get" it? I think so. I didn't find it too amusing either, but that's just me. Personally I think pedophilia jokes are in the gutter, but am I supposed to forever go around crusading as some sort of humor police? I don't think so. I don't think that would even make much of a difference anyway.
2). Clay is not an idiot. Stop with the name-calling.
3). Some people are once again making these discussions way too personal, and it's really starting to get old at this point.
4). I love ya all. Please don't take these comments too personally.
Thanks for listening.
ps. Bennie, Kayla's right. At least maybe try a little more set-up next time? Or maybe not. Never mind!

ah, another kind of humor---sarcasm
I can appreciate it as you know, truck
but it's a nine edged sword, amigo
you should learn how to use it if you want to unsheathe it in public
it's easy to cut yourself

nazz, a bow for your usual good sense

Great post! All true.
This is what happens all the time on the internet. Which is part of my assessment that the internet isn't real.
If we were in a room together in person, people wouldn't be taking this shit so seriously, it wouldn't turn into some kind of personal matter, nobody would be calling themselves or others names, and we'd all just be reading our poetry, drinking coffee or tea or a beer or something, raising our glasses for a toast, hugging, dancing and laughing.
I guarantee it.

hey, i'm cool. i just thought that putting it into terms of two kinds of art/comedy/people was a little high-handed and defensive. i guess my response was a little passive/aggressive but i thought bennie's statements merited it. i don't know bennie; i've nothing against him, and look forward to bigger and better dialog in the future. as for lrod, well, his words speak for themselves - loudly.

Clay scares me plenty Doreen
If I was in a room with him I would be just as scared.
I would keep my back to the wall and my hand in my pocket.

Well I hope no one feels attacked. Has their back against the wall. Feels fucked in the ass. Feels trauma. I hope you all feel cocooned in this safety net of friends and acquaintances and a working sense of respect.
Benny is one of the funniest people I don't know, but always enjoy. He's bound to have a hiccup where the crowd groans and moans and not in a good way.
Group hug! ( As much as I hate those...there's always a groper in the crowd!!!)
Getting hackles up over a worthy topic and a serious subject is what life is all about. Just lets not lose respect for one another, if we ever had it.
GO EIGHT!
Hey, I feel like a cheerleader! Well not in a carnal sense!

I'm glad to see that there are so many people here who feel qualified to arbitrate what is funny and what is not funny. It's pretty simple really. It's funny if you laugh. Easy test. You can do it at home.
If you think that Dr. Seuss is funnier than William S. Burroughs, then read Dr. Seuss.
Comedians have found humor in the darkest subjects since there was stand-up.

No you wouldn't. He's a pussycat. In person he is kind, gentle, funny, talented, friendly, and with a smile so big, you'd melt.
Nothing to be scared about.
He just likes to play with words on the internet I guess. Shrug. Many are not too fond of how certain people use words and that's understandable. I'm one of them. I prefer peaceful words. But words are just words and they're nothing to be afraid of.
