Jammin the night.
The young they chase
the night perchance
to dream of unrequited love.
The old endure the
dark like a symphony
never wanting it to end.

Week #1's almost done still trying to make it through.
Asthma kicked me but it hasn't killed me. Close,
but I don't want to check out yet.
Nebulizer? Check.
Albuterol? Check.
Amoxycillin? Check.
Prednisone? Check.

Epiphany & Christmas season is over,
New Year's week has begun,
We can begin a brand new start,
Starting with some fun...

Christmas & Epiphany are over
New Year's week is over & done
We have begun to make time again
Starting with some fun...
Some serious things are happening
The nation has got the political flu
We need to get all hands on deck
Getting the ship of state
Out of this infernal stew...
We've heard of Trumple-thin-skin,
We've heard Hillary called a harpy,
But those who voted for Trumpy,
Their mental tools weren't sharpy...

Fuck politics. And history for that matter.
Uuhh, what I meant to say was that they
BOTH seem to fail us, year after new year,
happy NEW YEAR, and you better get that
happiness within because it ain't coming
from some calendar rip..

Jump the gun to a fully adjusted adult. Only to be adjourned when I got there.
It wasn't my nerves but a case of surge and then there was lunch. The cooked goose was strung up in thirds.
Trust me, I just need to borrow your tub for the preacher's son who shunned the use of thumbs in favor of riding the lungs of a nun past Timbuktu in the mud.
What pulse that gathered round the pump where there was no ringing the rusted bell shut deep into the nerves of the absurd skirt. I had no concern for that bundled churchyard & deferred the discussion to emerge in Dublin whose headstones were buxom but falling over toward deduction.
Vanity does not exist in the boneyards. I have made that note
and hurry along.
You see I am crumbling.

As far as I know, I am very much alive.
I'm full of jive, & ready to say what for.
History & politics have failed us this year, but last year, at this time,
things were looking good.
I have not given up hoping for good things in America.
Because, as the saying goes: This too shall pass.
We are a tenacious people & don't let the "IL Douche's" of this
world get us down. Somehow we'll collectively get through
this time we refuse to embrace.
After all, we made it through the Reagan era...
"IL Douche" makes Reagan look like a moderate.
So, let's not use the language of "giving up".
We are going to get through this political stew.
The airship of state needs both its left wing & right wing to fly straight...

We've seen this movie before, and we have the tenacity to tough it out.

It doesn't really work anymore, Steve.
I guess that's no big shock though.
It really doesn't work too well
in many other countries either.
Politics and corruption eternal,
Some strong narcotics.
And maybe it can "work" just
enough to get by...

don't take me serious
meet me in the cafeteria,
we can sell milk
/ to the Siberians
this is all very wonderful
but I just can't stand it
one big package of can't stand it
it's too damn cold
there's a flash and a glance
a mis-placed mask
and a lost hat
you won't find me
dancing in France
or matching wits to a fox faced future
I plant the lack
& stamp the earth over it
first asshole come by
brandishing a lamp gonna be labeled
a free fire zone
and that
will be that
