between black
and white are
spectrum guesses
effected by
radiance and
desire.

every hue
is found
in an
accidental
fire.

spiders @tack mars
mooning blues over
avenues

recoils rattle that tattle snake hat
doffed under eyes
bruised seeing inklings of ink

spattering gutter shocks unhooked
hookahs

delivering widow thoughts
repentant adams ants

why do elephants waltz
why does music calm the savage heart
why do I see red demons when I close my eyes
three strawberies pays the winner
a yankee dollar
the future is not ours to see

why not a history of the future

I asked myself
why people bother
to talk to themselves.
I'm still waiting for an answer.

I jammed a scat tune
on the ivories. A silent
wind heard, recorded
it in black and white,
sharp in my head,
a minor key

i played it back
and listened to me

with an accelerated
tempo. monk would
have been proud.

bam boom....out go the lights?
how do ya keep feedin' a
poetry jam, well first off there
is no plan, it's kinda just a lay
it on the line and everything
will turn out fine, and that's
how ya feed a poetic jam......................

this is a word jam, man,
you can change the plan
any time you say....
if you don't have no mo'
poe-tree in ya today,
start a story if you want..
take a jaunt with a tale line...
or you tell yours
and i'll tell mine.

for now, though,
gotta lie down my head.
gonna think up some ideas
in my bed.

maybe i'll come back
write down my dreams...
word jams can be absurd jams
never are what they seem...

later, word jammers.
i gotta date with a nap.
i love the jammin'
i'll be back in a snap!

(well it might take longer than that
so while I'm gone.....
carry on!) ;)
