yeah...it could have been possible, TV manager or something like that instead of Depardieu and the other cruellll mentor.

I remember seeing her live on tv back in the early fifties, she was so crippled by arthritus that they had to carry to the microphone, then they raised the curtains. I remember how moved my mother was by her singing. And how sad my mother seemed but at the time I did not know why.

but is she good enough for american idol?

I think I am missing something, I have never watched more than 15 seconds of that show. and then only in ad vertanly

no idea... she´s my favourite jazz singer!! (among alive and death, of course!). I love her somehow minimized emotional-expression.
