The Awakening

Post by Marge Tindal » July 10th, 2008, 10:56 pm

The Awakening
~*Marge Tindal*~

IV intrusion
morphine infusion
and the gray light danced
all around
all around
and the gray light danced all around

peer of doctor with watchful eye
into sleep of gone bye-bye
wake up wake up
don't die
don't die

IV intrusion
gives the morphed illusion
of the gray light dancing 'round
nursed sleight of hand
in useless 'wake up' command
seeps into the sheet
giving no flight to feet
still the gray light danced all around
all around
still the gray light danced all around

Suddenly wings of pink fluttered dawn
chased the gray light out to the lawn
bringing a song to the wakening ear
of the loved ones waiting
waiting right here

the gray light was gone
yes, the gray light was gone
lovely pink light danced in it's place
in it's place
the pink light glowed on this face
and the gray light danced
no more
no more
and the gray light danced no more~

I must thank my dear, dear friend, Doreen Peri, who wrote -
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You, lady, are a strong and beautiful poet and God is working miracles with your life so that you will gain some insights you never had before, regarding love and life and the treasures and mysteries. You will heal soon and one of your new purposes will be to share what you learned during this period of illness and healing through your beautiful poetry!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blessings to you, Doreen ... I'm trying~

this is as pretty as a Joni Mitchell song (as interpreted by Leonard Cohen)
I want to hear the melody
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

Westy~
Thank you~

Rod~
What a nice compliment from you ... it just came dancing my way after opening myself up to Doreen's emailed suggestion that I pen my recent ordeal~
After the third surgery ... they set me up with that danged Morphine ... it did very strange things to my mind ... I couldn't wait to be done with it~
Sooooooooooo, after too many days of it ... I demanded to be taken off of the PCP (Patient Controlled Pump) .... a substuitute pain reliever was found in pill form ... and one of those Fentanyl patches too~

If it 'sings' ... it's because it flew fast and free ... I did kind of sing it to the page ...~

Dor~
YOU are the bestest, hon~
Next book (one copy) will be FREE to you !!!
"And I mean that with MY entire heart. The whole thing!" :P

Thank you for being YOU ... and for loving and caring about me all these years .... you know that loving feeling is mutual~

Marge, I spent too many years addicted to opiates. I know how consuming it is. I wish you all the best. It's been nine years since I have done it. Now I have good days and bad days instead of just so-so days one after another. Keep fighting. I send you strength and health.

JT~
Thank you SO much ..~
Your thoughts and comments mean a LOT to me~

Saw~
I appreciate the comment and all prayers~

LR~
I know that on my road to recovery it has been necessary to stop along the pain reliever way ... but man, I also know that the Morphine made me suffer in ways I didn't want to suffer~
I am thankful for my own will power in stopping the use~

The hallucinations were not pretty ... and the evil of it all is that 'they' encourage the use ... I am just thankful that my family listened to ME and not to the doctors in helping me get them to stop the use~

I'm going to be back to my 110% self before you know it !
I've got life to live and words to pen~
