Glasses don't work that way

Post by happytrails »

I went to a super market yesterday. Nothing unusual in that. So who cares? Well, let me tell you my story. I am a rather short person, and some of the shelves are rather tall. So I was shopping and doing alright, until I needed something that I couldn't seem to find. Another shopper said it is up there, pointing to a shelf which was at least eighteen inches above my eye level. I stood on tip toe and stretched my neck as long as it would stretch, but I still couldn't see what was on that top shelf. Now here is where I lost my hold on reality. I took my glasses off and held them up to the top shelf. It didn't work. I still couldn't see what was up there, but for just a few seconds, there, it felt as though it should work.
