HT, your original confirms the old Russian opinion of bears. "Let a bear sleep one cold night in your barn and the next night he'll be in your bed."

Re: haiku #?
I love raccoons, not so fond of black bears (like the gentleman below)
79.
hungry bear broke in
ripped cabinets from kitchen walls
cockroaches preferred
El oso hambriento irrumpió en la casa
y tiró las alacenas al piso.
Preferimos las cucarachas.
True story from Atlin, B.C.
57.
raccoon pirates board
seize kitchen garbage treasure
out through doggy door
Mapaches piratas suben al barco.
Toman el tesoro: la basura de la cocina.
Salen por la puerta del perro.
True story from Austin, Texas.

Sue, it was your raccoon haiku that inspired this one. I take a lot of inspiration from you. You are my haiku idol.

The rackety coon haiku was delightful, but your pumpkin Sueku is OUTSTANDING! You know, of course, if you read all the to and fro under my coo- coo clock poem you-know-where I have been dethroned but not defeated! At least you have a choice on the style, should you choose -- why not go to Wordfax and write a zebra haiku? You have really got it down, dear girl! Sue ♥♥♥

Re: haiku #?
I checked it out. My mistake was reading all the others first. It seems to have left me with a block. I can't think of anything original. All the good things have been said already.

Keep it up, you guys. Just listen to D. H. Lawrence in his couplet titled Tourists.
