day at the races

woke up this morning -
time to write a poem
take a vitamin, some coffee
a couple of cigs, and then....
off to the poetry races
where gumball sticks to the rail
and tiny little jockeys
whip their horses,
in a frantic and frenzied effort
to make the next post
