energy

some energies cannot commingle
sure they get tangled up for a bit
but ultimately their swirling masses grate
like sandpaper on a baby's face

they rip up the epidermis
carelessly depositing emery bits
of malcontent-ed ego
in every open wound

sometimes accelerated particles
do crazy things
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism
