the metal chimes in the sky lounge
dance like tribal warriors pounding their feet in the wind
the Bamboo Boys lay down the drumbeat
while The Glass Sisters sing a melody so sweet
it sparkles like Motown,
like those oft-forgotten backup singers
those bop shoo boppers, those la la la girls
no different than Amati or Stradivarius
always hangin' in the background
makin' any old lead singer sound marvelous
the seductive coos of undulating lovebirds
so exquisite my brain had to split in two
just to write this little ode

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
