Old Haiku Country Inn & Saloon

[the mingo]

trying to take off
a man holds up two umbrellas
into the wind

take off
easy does it
until the wild geese

fingers on instrument
music about to appear

call for room service
do i run or do i hide
no room

[the mingo]

where many wildflowers
once bent in the wind
snow

[the mingo]

except for the snow & shadows
empty of everything
long abandoned house

[the mingo]

the decades have passed
but i can't forget
how we laid in the grass
the soft grass
along by the creek

[the mingo]

i had a 'ku earlier
but thinking i'd remember
i didn't note it down
now it is gone
i mourn

sitting here
writing a ku
now it is gone in a stroke...
mourn for the born

just sittin here thinkin
about gone haiku
wrote three in a dream
woke so suddenly wide awake
not a chance to write them down
but still a trace in memory
tried to write them down but
it was just a shadow of what they were
don't ya mourn for me Susannah
it's just my neurosis

haiku dream
of blood chords
with heart beats alarm

sleeping and breathing
when one stops
a sudden wake up?

forgotten now
but not lost entirely
Should have wrote it down

proud and steadfast
till i exhale

... I tried that method of
hold-your-breath-ku but my face
just turned blue

thinking of things spoken
& things not
i lift my eyes on snow covered fields

spirit
rising up
to nail it down

[still.trucking]

the days rolling by like summer vacation
in the middle of February
There is Never a conga line around when I need one.
