reaper song

Post by saw »

some deaths are unacceptable
the loss, a tangle of raw nerve endings
twisted with horsewhipped neurons
inside a fiery ball of knotted cells
it hurts everywhere

it wakes you from a dead sleep
so you can ache a little more
before the sun comes up
some deaths are tragic
too soon, way too sudden

some deaths just wont leave you alone
they poke you in the ribs with regretful fingers
they stick sticks in your eyeballs
restrict your breathing
clamp down on your head

like the angry orca's jaws
and all your wriggling,
complaining, your impossible way
of feeling sorry for yourself
is all for naught
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

It lingers, this feeling
Forever slapped by
the silence of death
Never a reason
Never an answer
Never a fleeting
vision in the mists
of darkest night
Only silence crashing
down around us all..
.....really awesome feeling poem by you Steve, we shoulda done more shows, me & Dino.....yet the night we did that show at load a fun is etched in my great memories file for sure.....
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

thanx judih.....and Mark, yes most of us tend to believe there will be more time to connect with our friends and loved ones, we often succumb to the rigors of trying to keep afloat in a world that isn't kind to the aging population ....Dino's death was a big wake-up call for sure...see you on the 25th

fiery balls... yup, sometimes.

death... my only life-long friend...
we walk side by side, breathe the same breath,
and bleed the same blood...
till the end.
