Best Friend

Lost in the wash
my writing pad
it makes me
so sad

left in my pocket
it was forgotten
till it tumbled out
in shreds

a part of me
forever gone
erased in
the notepad

now I'm feeling
like I've lost
the best friend
I ever had.
