from the mountaintop
I can see the truth

inside the cloud there is enuf fresh air
to transpose from one key to another

see the world with these eyes I found
in a grab bag with sharpened ears

we spend a lot of time looking under rocks
for enlightenment that lifts us off the ground

and that's ok
'cause it's rarely as obvious as blue cold short low

it's never polished and sterile and there are no connect-the-dots books
sold in the same section with the atlas and the treasure map
