I was lost in this painting of mine
my heart slowed all the way down
to forgotten time,
my hand followed the pencil
the color rained down from my eyes
not from my head,
this was artist's heaven
when it all syncs up
and you are allowed to be a fly on an easel
watching yourself paint
and the elephant in the room
has a tapered brush
