Distraction

Post by saw »

another scan
another toke
and we can thank
Alice B. Toklas
for not objecting
to someone using a part
of her last name
"Toke"..las.....and oh lets not forget
the brownies
and Gertrude Stein
Picasso
Hemingway
Matise.....Paris
just trying to distact myself......................................
it worked !
what a time !
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

tonight's paper:
"NH senate rejects bill
to legalize marijuana..."
no worries -
everyone here lives near a border
I'm 20 minutes from two shops
in Massachusetts...
others can visit Vermont
or Maine
or Quebec...
so dither away, Honorable Gentlemen
while I light my pipe
and enjoy a walk along Scott Brook....

cruising along
smoking the fruits "the buds"
of my labors
a mellow highway
since when?
I was barely past child.
now a seniors pause
that refreshes.
I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing than teach 10,000 stars how not to dance.

I get it
Grow baby
Good medicine
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

I was standing on the shore
so many times in Key West
a teenager watching ships
coming into port from Colombia
Jamaica, Mexico
the holds full of herbs
a great place to come of age
a Sacred Time
A time for music
and friendship
ceremony,,,, as the sun set
in Mallory Square
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism
