Get the fuck up!

You really must get up and move —
it soothes the heart and brain and joints;
no matter if you’re ill or tired, the body
is required at all the points of life
to move, in order to survive.
I do apologize for being tactless, blunt.
You do not need an acrobatic stunt.
I’m sure you’re in the know.
I’m only talking to myself, as apropos.

This is Truth...even the smallest amounts have profound effects over days of routine movement....Ya Gotta Move !
the alternative is seizing up like a rusty old gate hinge

easier when the sun shines
but always a necessity
movin' and groovin'
to the bodies music

Absolutely. I live by that. I'm out there 5 or 6 times a week, in motion.

McKenzie Trail
winding up & over ancient dunes
get the rhythm
each step pounds for emphasis
the drumbeat
inhale- stomp - exhale
the body
doing what it's told
the mind
monitoring the gauges
all systems go
the animal works
climb
do
rejoice
I ain't dead yet

Thanks for your feedback, friends. I had a rather heavy duty asthma attack and ended up in bed for 5 days. Thank God I don’t smoke anymore. Anything. Weed makes me paranoid. It’s way too strong for me. Anyway, I got really sick of being stuck like that, inhaling nebulizer meds just so I could breathe. So I wrote this poem to myself. And guess what? It worked! Sometimes it helps to chew yourself out in rhyme and meter.

I got UP even though I was still sick and took the garbage out and cleaned the cat boxes and took a walk around the block. It was very therapeutic. So, the asthma is abating and I drove myself to PT today and had quite an active session (Frozen Shoulder diagnosis) then went grocery shopping so got some steps in and now I’m back at home feeling much better about my lot in life. I may not have anyone to share it with which gets old after a while but so does living with other people! lol. No complaints from me! I got all the meds and food and kitty litter I need and fuck the fucking asthma all the way off! I’m done with it! Gotta get up and move even if you’re dying because if you don’t, guess what? You’ll die a lot sooner. After I get through this 6-week PT prescription, I’m taking myself back to the gym bc I miss lifting! I’m going to be the oldest deadlifter and squatter there! I’m psyched! I’m so looking forward to it. Also talked to my dance teacher (and friend) on the phone the other day and I think I might join in for rehearsals for the next show. Moving’ forward!

I don’t know who I’m kidding. I’m only dreaming of recovery. My body has been failing me.
