"no one needs roses anymore"

Post by joel »

I need a rose; and honestly, I do.
I need a rose of candid quality—
I don’t need beauty, not perfected form
or sheltered glory, but a common good
transcendent over faultlessness. I need
a rose that blooms with sparse asymmetry
with leopard petals mottled by decay
and aphids comforted within its splay
of ordinary truth’s geometry,
but still a doubtless rose: a rose indeed.
Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen. Soft and rude:
I need that authenticity conform
to low existence, that equality
exist in hope for whole and good and true.

yeah, roses have thorns and there are people that see them as problems... My grandmother use to atemperate with scissors the roses's thorns before she gave them to us. Their soft tallos couldn't take away the sad, amputated and disoriented look they had.
I opted for jazmins some time ago. I can't resist their delirious perfume and I can buy a little bunch of them by myself in every corner, when it is their time and I want to have them near.
