About Doreen Peri

Doreen Peri a graphic designer, copywriter and web designer living in Northern Virginia. She is founder, designer, publisher and editor of Studio Eight. Doreen's work has been published in several online e-zines and literary print journals including Artdefact, Innervisions, Deep Cleveland, and Thunder Sandwich. She can also be found posting her work at various internet sites such as LitKicks, Arcanum Cafe, and the Scroll, among others.

Doreen works to organize and perfom in Cabaradio, a variety talk show featuring spoken word poetry, music and stand-up comedy. Cabaradio has been taped and aired at Arlington Independent Media. and also performed live at Washington, DC's Warehouse Theater. She also organizes art shows as part of the Cabaradio events. Doreen has performed her spoken word poetry at The Bowery Poetry Club and The Back Fence in NYC, as well as varied literary events.

Doreen's most recent poetry collection is Extremities to Paradise. She has recorded a spoken word CD called Oral Sets with Lightning Rod (soundscapes and production by Barry Gremillion.) She is currently working on a new collection of poetry entitled Lightstrings, as well as a new spoken word CD which will include some original piano compositions.
