Norman
Mallory was born in Oregon in 1945 and has lived in Washington, Alaska,
Nevada and California. He taught various subjects in the Humanities, Music,
Language Arts and Art History in colleges and universities in the US for
thirty years, retiring in 2000.
His drawings, poems and prose have appeared in five countries and been
translated into four languages. He has published poetry and prose in more
than one hundred journals, anthologies and magazines, illustrated the
covers of paperback books and worked as a commercial artist, journalist
and writer.
His publications include: New Writers of Canada and America; Best New
Poems of Canada and the US; The
Malahat Review (selected by Robin Skelton); The Antigonish
Review;Contemporary Literature in Translation; Back
in Town (an anthology); The Mediterranean Review ( selected by Robert
Graves); Margin
(London); Psmje (Zagreb) and Impulse (Berlin). Four collections of his
verse appeared between 1972 and 1998.
In 2003-4, he collaborated on several works with Patrick Warner. Their
book, "Eyes of India" ( poems and drawings), will appear in
2005 from Futharc Press.
His work currently appears on various Internet Web sites as well as in
several galleries and print publications.
